How to remove this defaultuser0 from logon screen

    Hello,
On the first start of a brand new MS Surface Pro3, goes through the Windows Welcome configuration then restart.
On the logon screen I got 2 users : mine and defaultuser0 (see image enclosed).

Is there a way to remove this defaultuser0 (at least from the logon screen) without damaging Windows 10?
    Regards

Perhaps the least 'destructive' is to simply disable it:
Enable or Disable Account in Windows 10

Once you've convinced yourself of which user profile it relates to and you've determined that it's safe to do so, you can delete it
Delete User Account in Windows 10

    - check what you have under C:/users for example.

    TNX dalchina
I just disabled it, restart... no more defaultuser0 on logon screen

I can't determine if this user profile it safe to delete.
Howeve, I found in this registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\
    S-1-5-21-3825132402-2718600146-3614725516-1004
    ProfileImagePath = C:\Users\userdefault0

Since this MSSurface belongs to a friend, it is realy safe to delete the defaultuser0 account?

Hi, coukou, I always been setting local account when I clean install. In this case defaultuser0 doesn't appear. After the setup then I switch to MS account. There is something else: With a local account first, your user name is properly saved under Users on C:, otherwise the name is half cut.
Today I installed the 20H2, again with a local /offline/ account first and defaultuser0 was also surprizingly there under Users. I just deleted it from explorer and so far so good.

I hope I am not wrong, let the other members here comment.

    Regards,
    Ivan

Sounds like a new quirk from MS... if so I'm sure we'll see more reports.

Here's the basis of it: it is a known scenario:

I meant possibly new in that it might be occurring more frequently again.
