Edit name function missing from user account in Windows 10 home

I have incorrectly spelt my username wrong in my user account and want to correct the spelling , however several hours later I have found this to be more difficult than building a rocket and flying to the moon.

I have attached a screenshot of the user account with my account name in correctly spelt. I have checked on a friends laptop Windows 10 home and the only difference we can see is that they have a function that allows them to edit ( not change just edit) their username account.

The only difference appears to be that my laptop was once used as a network laptop for a business. So in some way the "standard operating environment" SOE is preventing me from correcting the spelling

How my options are listed in "make changes to your user account are :

Make changes to my account in PC settings
    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
    Change Account type
    Manage another account
    Change User Account Control settings

::::::::::::I dont have the option "Change your Account name"

Everytime I log on I am reminded of my mistake. Please help. Raven65

Create a replacement user account wth the correct email address, move across any files you want from the old account's user folders, delete the old user account.
Add Local Account or Microsoft Account - TenForumsTutorials
    Delete User Account - TenForumsTutorials

    OR

Convert the account to a local account Switch to Local Account - TenForumsTutorials
convert it back to an online-account-linked-account and use the right spelling this time Switch to Microsoft Account - TenForumsTutorials

They have a local account. You have an online-linked account.
The difference is signficant. An online-linked account is linked to the online account that is defined in the ISP's servers not in the computer alone.

If you edit something, you change it. I don't know why you stressed that point.

    Thanks Denis

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post Denis.

    Your comment-

The difference is significant. An online-linked account is linked to the online account that is defined in the ISP's servers not in the computer alone.

I will attempt to follow your guidance and create a local account and transfer the files from the online account and delete. This is new territory for me. Very basic user.
Thanks again for your help much appreciated,

    Raven,

Step 2 - You can read this first but do it second
If a local account is all you want then just
Convert the account to a local account Switch to Local Account - TenForumsTutorials

I only use local accounts as well.

Step 1 - This is worth doing first because it is a valuable safety step
In addition to the account I use, I also have a spare, password-protected local Admin account so I can get in to sort things out if my normal account ever gets corrupted.
Add Local Account or Microsoft Account - TenForumsTutorials
Change Account Type - TenForumsTutorials to make it an Admin account

Make sure you write their passwords down somewhere secure yet readily available to you. Writing down their passwords is as effective as & is a lot cheaper than making 'Password reset disks' [which are only for local accounts anyway]. I always write user account passwords down on a piece of paper that I keep inside one of those dog nametag cylinder things attached to my main keyring -

Here's a [UK] example for ID tags https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pet-Barrel-.../dp/B00DEB1JVQ There are lots of available choices but I bought ones that, like these, have a slot in the bottom for me to swing off so I can be confident they won't come apart accidentally while I'm out & about.
