    School computers shut down

Our school lost their IT department employee and the separation was not friendly. We have no way of retrieving the Administrator password set on over 100 computers on campus. Unfortunately they are windows 10. With Win 7 I could simply use a method to access cmd prompt and type control userpasswords2 to gain access to all users and change any password. Trying that same method on Win 10 requires that I know the original admin password in order to change it. Please help!

    Hi, some ideas here:
[Updated]How to Reset Windows 10 Administrator Password If Forgot?
    - note only certain ones are relevant to the admin password.

(Caveat- I've not had to do this, so you'll hopefully get advice from someone who has).

The only program I used did not recover the password but deleted it which allowed booting. It was a bootable CD and cost a few hundred but being a free-lance and a part-time shop tech it was affordable. Unfortunately the developer/publisher is no longer furnishing it and will not stand behind/guarantee downloads from other sites.

AFAIK, apart from cracking methods we can't discuss, you will not be able to retrieve the pw - only reset it (on each PC !!!). Hopefully they are all identical installations (they ought to be), so you can set one up fom scratch, image it and copy to the others.

If you can boot the computers from a USB flash drive, you can enable the built-in administrator account:
