Windows 10 Updated w/2004
Hello consistently not working after one or maybe two initial successes. Have tried to improve face recognition with no relief. In looking around windows and surface forums, I see that this a common and known issue.
Apparently it has something to do with the IR camera - is anyone here aware of this. It seems Microsoft has no clue (or doesn't care)?

Only certain cameras are Hello compatible. This seems not to be clearly defined.

Windows Hello Face Requirements:
- PIN added to your account
- A Windows Hello compatible IR camera. (examples below)
Yes, it worked when I first set up the Surface Go and worked well until 2004. Win Hello is touted by MS as an integral part of Surface devices.
BTW, thanks for the prompt reply but I'm afraid that MS screwed this feature with another mindless and untested update. This is probably my last windows machine - its off to Linux
Windows Hello Face Recognition still works OK on my Surface Go with Version 2004.

Troubleshoot problems with Windows Hello on Surface
Might help if exact full build numbers were quoted (as the forum prompts for when starting a thread- so many don't). A huge number of fixes were applied in this:

- although there's only 1 reference to Hello, probably unrelated.
Has the camera driver been updated?
- see Update History, and/or your Device Manager
Compare version with the last available for your device from the drivers download page.
