Problem with Windows 10 creating temporary accounts

On my son's PC Win 10 failed to log into his profile and started to create temporary profiles.
His profile still exists under C:/user/profile name and it is showing with a .bak in the registry profile list.
I deleted the new temp. profile and renamed the .bak profile.

When I boot up in safe mode his normal profile loads with all the settings except for the screen resolution. But I am unable to save this profile for a normal boot.
When I allow win 10 to boot as usual it starts off with my son's profile and the "welcome" message, but then changes the message under the profile name to "preparing windows" and we get another temporary profile.

Windows had been set to use the old restore points system but no restore points exist.....

What else can I do to load the profile in a normal boot?

Its corupted as you have proved by your test so it wont load first job is do a full disk check see if that fixes it if it doesnt hen you will have to create a new user. It does sound like a disk fault

I am having the same issue. But when I create a new user, that user then opens as a temp profile. It’s a cycle. Every user account opens as temporary.
I’ve done regedit and disk clean up.
