Windows Hello not working on new Laptop

    Hi,

I just purchased the Acer Swift 3 laptop today and out of the box the PIN and Windows Hello is not working. I've managed to get the PIN to work by updating the fingerprint sensor but it still does not allow me to use the Windows Hello face login.

The Camera driver for this unit is using a Microsoft driver, no driver available on the Acer support website. Ive also added the allowdomain registry key but that did not help. Any help is appreciated.

Return it and get a laptop that works. Definitely not right that there are problems with a new Laptop.

Nah, I don't think that was even resolved. I might have to return this as they have also limited the capability of adding a new memory stick. They said you'll have to wait until the warranty is over lol.

Doesn't work on an ACER Aspire 5 either

I have an ACER aspire 5. Windows will not cooperate with purchases, downloads, anything that involves microsoft without a fight with the installation of HELLO. I learned on You Tube that this laptop does not integrate well with HELLO. I get caught in an "first we have to verify it's you loop": name, password, pin, captcha x 4, then a prompt "you can disable HELLO" This requires the same login as above which triggers: "you must use Windows HELLO to access this function", and so it begins again. I have never gotten any farther on this laptop. My previous laptop, an old Toshiba , was nursed along due to the skills of the overseers of this forum, until I found and did a clean install of Win 10. Now I bow to your expertise again. How to get rid of anything to do with HELLO?

If it's NEW, I agree with Ztruker it's not worth the hassle to go through so many loops just to get it to work correctly!
