    I'm with Martin.

Export all the contacts out of this "Gmail" account. Not sure where calendar was being kept and how far in advance it had scheduled activities. Think you can export it as well.

Start a new Outlook account and import them.

Then using contact list notify people of change. With her medical team ask them to confirm receipt.

You can keep the gmail account active so she can reference

The biggest and most difficult activity surrounding this is the changing of login id's associated with the old account.

Cell phone, utilities, memberships, facebook, instagram etc. Don't forget those places that send you emails like banks to tell you statements are ready. Hopefully sister has a good list of accounts and going through old emails will jog memories.

I know, not what anyone wants to hear but it puts this chapter behind you.

It is what it is. The big concern is the medical team. A lot of their reminders and appointment things are done automatically, and they seem to be kind of bad at the tech side. My sister has some cognitive issues resulting from MS. So this change is going to be very difficult for her.

Thank you all for trying to help though. I really do appreciate it. Now I need to find out how I can F&R those two computers since neither one came with system disks.

That should not be two difficult.

We have tutorials on resetting and clean install. I would reset.

    Reset Windows 10

    or clean

    Clean Install Windows 10

The Media creation tool allows you to download Win 10 although right know it is pushing V2004.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/soft...load/windows10

You download Media creation tool, execute and follow the prompts to create a USB key. (or ISO)

Yes these types of changes can be very trying to anyone. I teach and support Seniors with their tech needs.

You could trying calling MS and explaining situation.

Do make sure you are talking to Microsoft and not someone pretending to be MS.

Not sure how you plan to setup computers, Microsoft Account or local. I know you had bad experience with syncing and such which should not have happen. The syncing between two computers is useful but certainly not a necessity. Not sure what browser your sister normally uses, that is where I see syncing being handy.

If you have questions ask away, lots of good people here.

My intent would be to set everything up as local. I don't understand why my husband didn't set it up that way initially. My sister has to have everything set up a certain way due to her cognitive issues from the MS. The sync caused some totally weird issues. She could go to certain websites on one computer and not the other and vice versa.

Am I right in guessing that 2004 is not the latest and greatest version of Win 10? If I get the ISO file, is that going to make me upgrade once I get it loaded? I'll go through and read up on if reload or reset will work better for me. Regardless, I am going to have to find some thumb drives etc to back everything up on, so it will be a few days before I get to it.

    Thank you once again!

2004 is the latest and greatest, not sure about greatest, quirky things. It is being pushed out to eligible machines. Plenty have installed.

The sync did not cause web site issues. We would have to diagnose and ensure browsers were set the same. Could have even been some conflict between New Edge and Old Edge but I haven't seen reports like that. Might have also been prepackaged trial AV.

If you want to go Clean just get an 8GB USB key for MCT tool (or bigger but that is a waste) and follow the Clean install tutorial. In the tutorial step 22 leads you to Microsoft Account or Local.

There is a reset that keeps personal files and another option that removes all.

You might go to each computer and determine version today. Right click start, left click run, type winver in box, enter.

Your newest machine is likely 1909 but could be 2004. Older laptop is anyone's guess. Microsoft does perform forced upgrades when version installed is not supported. So anything earlier than 1903 could be seeing forced upgrades.

Just for reference the path has been 1803, 1809, 1903, 1909, 2004 (first two digits = year, second two = month)
