Many members use Macrium Reflect. The free version does everything most people need. Tutorial looks long, it isn't, just very detailed.

It's definitely something I'll look at when I get enough time. I suppose it's far easier to just copy and restore an image when it's right rather than having to reinstall everything once again.

Are you using a password or biometrics? I may just write a simple app in VB that keeps checking every 30 seconds or something. I'll see how much it botheres me first lol.

I am indeed using a password, PIN, and Face. Odd.

Hmm I can only put that down to the Windows version. Is your "Require Sign In" option greyed out too?

A bit of an update on this.

So in the Local Group Policy editor I changed Require a password when a computer wakes (Both plugged in & On battery) from "Not configured" to "Disabled" and this solved the issue of it requesting a password when the screen turns back on... Yes that's right. It's definitely not entering sleep because if I have something downloading or whatever it continues while the screen is off, but weridly it seems that it classes the screen turning off as 'Sleep' and perhaps powers down the touchpad which is probably why I can't "wake" the screen with it.

It's all confusing as hell, and the power options do not help since they've been heavily restricted in new systems. I have read "Microsoft are moving the power options from the old style control panel" in various places but nowhere in the system is any advanced power options. The only "Advanced" settings you get are basic ones such as:

Desktop background settings (Slide show)
Sleep (Sleep after & Hibernate after)
Display (Turn off after)
Battery notifications

Bear in mind that the "Require Sign In" is still set to "Every Time" and is still greyed out. In my opinion it's some half assed change in power options Microsoft have done maybe in newer systems, since this is a 2020 laptop and my older laptop is 6 years old and works better than this in regards to these issues.
