Deleted Admin account. Want to recover it.

My first admin account after building my computer was a school account that was not a microsoft account or a local account. I used a PIN to unlock the computer. I decided to change the PC from using a school account to a local account. I then created a new local account and made it admin. Then I went to settings, accounts, access work or school, and then disconnected my school account. Then the PC restarted and all my settings, preferences, and apps were deleted. It made it so I was a different admin. I want to go back to my old account so I keep all my settings and apps I already installed. When I go to the C:\Users\, I still see my old account folder there. Nothing was deleted. I want to go back to that account but I can't login using the old admin account. Thank you for your help. Windows 10 Version 1909

The school account was probably part of the School Domain. You would have to have the schools IT dept person with Domain Admin rights to add your computer back to the Domain.
If you can see your settings in the Users folder, you can copy your files to your User Name file.

    Hey Spunk,
Thanks for the response. So regarding your second part of the response, I can just copy the contents from C:\Users\username of the old to C:\Users\username(new) and my settings, apps, and preferences from the old admin account would be moved correct?

No, copying the folder contents under This PC to the same folders under your new User only copies the data files, like Pictures or Music. The custom Windows settings will have to be redone, as every User has his own set of Store apps, programs (unless installed for All users) and settings. After you're satisfied, delete the School account

As stated, you can copy your User Files (Pictures, Music, Documents etc) Any programs would have to be reinstalled.
