Both my laptops use a ms account, have a different PIN (were once same & I changed one), are 64 bit, running version 1809.

2009 Dell requires enter after the PIN
2018 MSI does not require enter after the PIN
    I only tested with 1909...
...and i thought i had figured it out.

Regarding to Windows Hello PIN - some machines need Press Enter others not Why try with 4 digit PIN, and report if enter is still needed.
Although, I have 6 digits, and no enter is required
And uncheck "allowed letters and symbols"

Yup, with a 4 digit PIN on my old Dell, it doesn't require enter.

Thanks for that info, good to know. My true curiosity though is why a 5 digit PIN on my MSI funtions without enter but not on the Dell.

    UPDATE!

I found the answer at least for my Dell, thanks Andre. If I had followed your directions a bit closer, it would have worked the first time.

I switched my PIN to a numeric only 6 digit and made sure the 'include letters and symbols' isn't selected. Now I simply enter the numeric 6 digit PIN and no enter required. I was using an alpha-numeric PIN.

Thanks for asking the question Blue Owl. Now we have all learned something.

No letters or special characters? Do you have num lock on both set to the same state?

    Hold on.
I use the same PIN on both my Dell and my Asus. I use letters and numbers. Dell, no need to press enter. Asus, I must press enter.

Try changing the Asus PIN to numeric only and make certain to clear the checkbox in the pic above. I wish I understood why but losing the alpha content fixed my Dell.
