    thanks for the links, i will go with the clean install.

    how can i find out if my Asus laptop is 32-bit or 64-bit?

    If your model is X555DA
    X555DA Driver & Tools | Laptops | ASUS Global
    Scroll down to please select OS, click on please choose, you will see Windows 10 64-bit.

    If your model is X555DG
    X555DA Driver & Tools | Laptops | ASUS Global
    Scroll down to please select OS, click on please choose, for Windows 10 you will see 64-bit.
