Not Urgent! But trying to figure why some PCs require you to press Enter after entering your PIN and other PCs do not require pressing Enter and sign right in. Is there a setting for this? It does not seem to be specific to any particular version of widows builds. Thanks!
I don't recall exactly, but when the PIN is initially set up, the default length for the PIN is 4 digits. That can be changed, I believe it was 4-8, or 4 to 12, and an option to use symbols and letters, too. My hunch is if it was set up with the default of 4 digits (similar to a credit card), it does an auto-enter and signs you in. Otherwise, being a variable length, you need to tell it your done with the ENTER key. Best I can recall.
Thanks - I just set up a plain 4 digit PIN and no Enter was required.
My old Dell required an enter after the PIN was entered yet my newer MSI did not. After being directed to this thread, thanks Andre, a numeric 4 digit PIN on the Dell worked without enter while a 6 digit alpha-numeric did not.
Then I followed Andre's suggestion and tried a 6 digit numeric PIN and made certain the 'Include letters and symbols' box wasn't checked. Eureka! Now a numeric 6 digit PIN requires no enter key on my Dell. Thanks for the tip TC and Andre.
