    Not Getting Code for Password Reset


    Hi,

    I got a notification message on my Hotmail client that I needed to fix my account.

    I tried to log in to my microsoft account, and the password was rejected.

    I know that I typed it in correctly.

    So, I then tried to perform a password reset. I requested a reset code using the email address that I have associated with the account.

    It's been a few hours now, and I've yet to get a code.

    It's because of shyyt like this that I've been switching everything over to gmail.

    Does anyone know what I need to do about getting back into my account?

    Simple try again. They could be having problems.

    Make sure it is not getting to junk, being blocked or filtered with a mail rule in some app. Sign into to recovery email address with a browser.

    Sometimes when you set up account you can use recovery email address and a phone number. Any chance you may have set up both? When you go through forgot process see if there are other options to verify yourself.

    Thanks for the reply. It went to junk/spam.

    I've answered the questions as best as I can. Now I have to wait for something like 24 hours to see if my answers are adequate to regain access.

    This is a PAIN in the BRAIN!

    Assuming you get access please consider adding mobile phone. They won't use it for any other purpose than to Text you codes.
