    Account protection

This has been a frustrating issue. I upgraded a w7 computer a few weeks ago when I 1st noticed the issue and last night and today setting up a new w10 computer for my wife's work at home.

You can see the warning message about windows security and when you click it you are asked to log into your Microsoft account for additional security. When I did it say the password is incorrect. So I click forgot password. Then I go through the whole process of getting a notification sent to my phone and I complete the password using the same password I used prior and now it says I can't use a old password and must pick a new one. OK I pick a new one and complete the password change. So now I go back to the original sign in page and when I use the new password I get through to the next step and the page is saying I need to insert my password one more time and when I do it is always wrong.

On my computer I did a few weeks ago I finally instead of inserting the password again where it said use existing password I just click next and it went through and has not been a issue since. On my wife's work computer not so lucky. It has been a vicious cycle, opening up new Microsoft accounts and or changing passwords always the exact some process of getting through the first step of password verification and on the 2nd time that I am told to insert my password one more time in is always the wrong password.

It has always been stupid stuff like this that I hate about windows!

Thanks just to be clear I'm not talking about the pin to open windows at the start. It's the protection offered by logging into your microsoft account. This image shows everything is fine and as far as I can tell it was a fluke that I got it. Later after my wife is done working I can gather up about 6 screenshots that will explain my issue.

The link I gave you does not talk about your pin # ...... it does, however talk about Microsoft password and troubleshooting.
