    Microsoft account email alias problem

My default alias used to be my default email address.
Now I changed the alias not knowing that I would not be able to revert back to my @HOTmail.com alias.... so now unless I send a email to the alias all mail becomes undelivered. How can I switch the alias back to my default email. When I try in account settings it says this email is reserved ...

    Hello Steven,

Your aliases share a single password, and you can send and receive email with each. Your primary alias will be the username you use to sign in to your account, the username that appears on your Windows 10 devices, and how you show up to recipients in email.

Is this what you did below to try and change your primary alias?

i changed the alias and removed the default one, so now i have only the new one in the list...the default one that was their is gone

i did not know that removing the default alias would mean i would lose my original email address, because now my original email adress isnt working.

and on top of that, my new alias or should i say new email address isint recieving emails... over 20 years of usuing the same email address and its gone because i thought a alias was just a display name.

Is it giving you the reserved message when trying to add the hotmail email address back as an alias?

yes it is, the reserve message

so when people send to @HOTmail we get a bounce back saying account doesnt exist and for some reason my new @Outlook.com is not recieving emails.

I had no choice but to use and change all my email addresses to the new alias as the when changed it cannot be reverted
