Is it possible not to enter the password/PIN at Window startups?

    1. I have linked my Microsoft account to my digital license.
    2. Via "netplwiz", I have deselected "User must enter a user name and password to use this computer" for the said account.
    3. I have set a Windows Hello PIN.
    4. At Windows startups, I have to enter either the password or the PIN.

How can I spare the trouble of entering them?

Is there more than one account/profile, active? I ask because my W7Pro does likewise, password asked for because I activated, enabled, the built-in admin/profile acct - hence having two active accounts, profiles.

You may have missed a step. After the un-check, click apply, then the next screen will ask for the Pasword twice. Enter and OK. Then OK again. That should do it.

    @ f14tomcat,
Yesterday, after deselecting "User must enter a user name and password to use this computer", I clicked on "OK" and then entered a password. Today, I still had to enter the PIN.
A few minutes ago, I tried again. I clicked on "Apply" instead of "OK" before entering a password. Hopefully, I will not have to enter the PIN tomorrow.

In the next screen, should I enter my user name or my hotmail address? My user name is used by default.

Ir defaults to the user name associated from the first screen. Just enter PW twice.

To clarify, user name should be pre-entered for you based on the user name associated with this account in your pic.

The pre-entered user name is Matthew_Wai, my user name on Windows 10.
At Windows startups, the displayed user name is Matthew Wai ., the user name associated with my hotmail account, the one shown in my screenshot.
I have tried both names, but I still have to enter the PIN at Windows startups.

Should I enter the password for my hotmail account or set a new password?

Forgive me for asking this question again, I want to learn more about W10 first screen.
