How do i remove a old user account

Hi i have bought a used laptop running windows 10 home and i have followed this tutorial To Change Name of a Local Account in Control Panel

And i have changed the user name ok but when i look with file explorer at the users folder the old name is still there so how do i change the name in the users folder. also there is another name there in the users folder but its not in the user accounts in the control panel and it will not let me delete it, so how do i get rid of that please

    Regards

    Hello Sam,

Since this is a used laptop, it would normally be best to reset the laptop to start fresh and set up a new account for yourself during the reset.

When I say it is a used laptop it was a family laptop so I know it’s history and it’s only been used a little
So if I create a new user account and then grant administrator rights and then remove the account I don’t need will it remove the users name in the users folder

If the user profile folder is for the account you are deleting, it would remove it.
