How can I disable auto login on a passwordless account?

I have a Windows 10 PC which I share with my dad, and while my own account is protected with a password, his is not because:
    • he has no private stuff there, and
    • I expect he'd have difficulty remembering a password, as his memory is very poor due to a stroke he had 8 years ago

The problem is that I'm finding is that if he has used the PC, it automatically logs into his account next time it is powered up, which I'm finding annoying because it wastes time logging out of his account and into my own.

Is there any way of reconfiguring the WIndows startup so that it will always show the login screen on startup so whoever is using it can select their own account to log in to?

    Thanks,

    1. Press Windows Key and R and type secpol.msc
    2. Go to and enable Local Policies -> Security Options -> Interactive logon: Don’t display last signed-in

The application secpol.msc isn’t in Windows 10 Home
