    Two administrators, only want one

I deleted the Windows.old folder and ever since when I log in my login page has an added administrator account along with my normal login/administrator.

Can I just delete the new administrator and move on, or is this a deeper problem?

    Thanks

You can remove it or disable it Safer to disable first and wait a week before you delete it

    From Admin Tools
    • Hold the Windows Key while pressing “R” to bring up the Windows Run dialog box.
    • Type “lusrmgr.msc“, then press “Enter“.
    • Open “Users“.
    • Select “Administrator“.
    • Uncheck or check “Account is disabled” as desired.
    • Select “OK“.

yes, that is the command line I used...executed with command prompt running as administrator logged in my original user account/admin. The second administrator account just appeared out of nowhere. The following command got rid of it. Now when I log in to my computer, only the original administrator (me) shows at login.....I am the only user on this computer, we have three others that are acting normally...

    net user administrator /active:no

The Administrator account is disabled by default. It's not clear how yours got enabled, just deleting windows.old should not have done it.

Actually, it's a good idea to have at least one more administrator account available, a useful way in if you ever get locked out of your main account. Though that would be best served by creating another local administrator account, not by enabling Administrator. All my machine have two administrator accounts, just in case.
