    See if this short "how to" on you tube helps...
    It won't, that video is very old. That build is 10240 as can be seen from the clock being the last item on the taskbar. The year being 2015 is also a clue. That option being described does not exist in current builds.

    Now my question is, are we talking about the same 'lock screen'?
    I do hope to get rid of the extra click on that button every morning on waking up.
    You seem to be describing a 'required sign-in at wakeup'. Look again at Option Five in this tutorial.

    Turn On or Off Require Sign-in on Wakeup in Windows 10

    On my machines the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Power\PowerSettings\0e796bdb-100d-47d6-a2d5-f7d2daa51f51 from Option Five contains only a (Default) REG_SZ value.

    @Bree, i tried that reg file, does nada. However, that one has two values, while yours has none:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Power\PowerSettings\0e796bdb-100d-47d6-a2d5-f7d2daa51f51]
    "DCSettingIndex"=dword:00000000
    "ACSettingIndex"=dword:00000000

    Got it! That option is only visible in 1903 if you are signed in with an account that has a password. Set one for your account, change the option, then you can set a blank password again if you wish.

    In fact, Option One in the tutorial does state that a password is required.

    This option will only be available if the account has a password.
