How to remove email address from windows login

Just purchased a new pc and forced to enter an email address to create new profile in latest build.

Simply, how to remove (hide) your email address showing on windows start up log in screen?

I have tried several fixes, so far nothing worked; many are dated. The privacy toggle under sign-in was toggled to no effect. There should be something very simple to prevent your information from showing if chosen. Just show my name not my email address.

    Thanks for any help

Fairly easy. Go to Settings>Accounts>Sign-in Options. Turn this option OFF.

Hide or Show Email Address on Sign-in Screen in Windows 10

Damn....this option was off the entire time, no joke. I then enabled it rebooted and disabled it rebooted and it's now not showing.

Seriously I checked this first. Thanks for the quick response.....I appreciate it

No problem. Glad that fixed it. Windows gets finicky sometimes and you have to "Tickle" it!

You should still have the option to use a local account to set up when first starting a new PC, but there is a bug in the OOBE (Out of Box Experience) for 1809 Home that makes this option disappear when setting up Home while connected to the internet (reported HERE). You can make it reappear if, when asked for an email address or a phone number, you enter an invalid phone number (eg 1234567890). The error page saying the phone number is bad has the link to continue setting up using a local account.

I confirmed that this bug exists in 1809 Home (but not in 1809 Pro or any edition of 1903) HERE.
