    Disable login password

    Hi,
I linked my Windows 10 account to a Microsoft account in order to activate my online License as described here

Now Windows is asking me for my live password or PIN. Is there a way to remove that password/pin? I tried this method but it results in having two accounts with the same name on the login screen. One without a password and one with.

Is there a way to get the behaviour I had before i.e. having Windows start till the desktop without password?

(I know that an OS without a password is not recommended but I do not care about that)

    cheers

    Hello TexTwil,

You can use option 1 to have Windows automatically sign in to your account at startup using netplwiz.

It sounds like you may not have entered your account's password correctly in netplwiz previoulsy causing the double account listing. Be sure to enter the password and not PIN.

the problem was indeed that I did not enter the online password. I thought this dialog is meant to choose a new local password (or empty to disable it)

    Now it works as expected.
    thanks for your help

Open Settings, click on Accounts.... on the left side click on Sign-in options.

Then look for Require sign-in and open the drop down menu to set it as you wish.
