    default profile win10

    Hi, new here. I r idjit, I guess. I run some computer labs, and modified the default profile in 1903 win10. Now Autocad won't run for anyone but the local admin. It's interesting that their other programs run, Revit etc, just not Autocad. They say recently that they support only untouched default local and roaming profiles, but I hadn't seen that before yesterday.
    History, I have been running these labs for over 10 years using over 30 different softwares, and only Autocad has this issue, starting last year.

    So; the issue, I did not back up the win 10 default profile before modifying it.
    Can I move/copy/merge/import the default profile from another computer, same model, os, etc?

    A quick search would show you this. Unable to run AutoCAD as a restricted user | AutoCAD | Autodesk Knowledge Network . Pay attention to #2. That would apply to any software.

    Yes, that's the bit I just saw last week. It's a lot to go through with only a day or two to go.
    If I read it correctly, it says the reg keys are necessary, then it goes on to say that if they aren't there, the secondary installer runs and puts them there.
    If these folders or registry keys do not exist, a secondary installer process (Msiexec) is launched to configure the default content and settings in these locations.

    Then it says where the secondary installer finds the stuff;
    The default content is stored in the hidden folder <InstallDir>\UserDataCache (the default location is C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2019\UserDataCache).

    But then it says if the folders and keys exist that Autocad will still run.
    If these folders and registry keys exist (even if they contain limited or incorrect data), AutoCAD will still launch

    So to keep my feeble mind going, to me this says that if the keys etc aren't there the secondary installer puts them there, and it seems this is not happening. Am I possibly right in thinking that this may be a permission issue with the location folder C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2019\UserDataCache?

    Although in this case, it's Autocad 2020 I'm trying to run. Also I can't test for a couple days. Any comments/thoughts most welcome.
    Thank you

    Oh, and, you point out that "Pay attention to #2. That would apply to any software."
    Again, only Autocad has this issue. Revit which is also an Autodesk product, runs fine. So does sketchup, Solidworks, MasterCam, Bluebeam, Trace700, CabnetVision, and many more without any mod to the profile or permissions. Hmmm; well let's hope!
