    lost admin privileges?

    Good evening.,
I don't know why I lost admin privlages, but I cant get on task manager, I cant download, I cant "run as administrator, although I am signed in on an administrator account, which I had just set up a new one and signed out of the old one because of the issue I am having.
I tried system restore, that finally worked, but i still cant even use cc cleaner, or tweaking.com, nor task manager, I cant open an elevated command prompt, I have tried several things and I am at a stand still and cant do anything about it. I am confused please help.
    thank you so much

    cant
You have not said what happens when you try.

To keep things as straightforward as possible, please explain what happens & does not happen when you cant open an elevated command prompt

OH gosh I am sorry, when I try to do those things, get into cmd prompt or tsk mgr or try to download, I get an error message saying maybe wrong path was typed or to contact network administrator, same message no matter what I do. when it ocmes to command promt, I gert the black screen but its blank, and I cant type in it and there is no error message. I get the error message for anything else though

    hello denis,
I tried to right click on my windows start button, and all I got was a black screen about 3 inches wide and 6 inches tall. and it had the letters co in the middle of the black screen. …….as well as scattered little marks like this (-). good thing I have not lost my temper,

That is very strange. I cannot decide what advice to give you since there does not seem to be any common thread to the problems.

The next time each of these things happen, take a screenshot and post it.

If you had described the Start button problem without mentioning any other problems I would have advised you to go to the computer / display card maker's website and download then install the latest display driver. If you already have the latest one then reinstall it. On balance, I think it is worth doing that even though the other problems exist. You might have to use another computer to download the display driver to since your own is playing up then copy to your own computer with a USB stick.

The display driver fix might help with the blank command window but I do not understand why its behaviour would be any different when you try to open it as Admin.

I would not expect the display driver fix to have any effect on the Task mgr or downloading problems. Get the display driver bit out of the way first and then, if you can get an Admin command prompt up and running, run SFC.
    - If SFC reports unrepairable errors then see my post my consolidated ditty on SFC errors [WD update problem] - TenForums for the method of extracting detailed SFC results from the "CBS.log" file.
    - Look further down my consolidated ... post to see the picture of the unrepairable errors caused by a current WD update problem. If your SFC results match those then do not worry about them at the moment [if ever] because they are not related to the symptoms you have described.
    - If SFC reports other unrepairable errors then check you are connected to the internet and use the command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth in an Admin command window [this is noted in both the tutorial & my consolidated ... post]. Afterwards, run SFC again.
    - If SFC eventually reports no further errors then try your problem issues again - Task mgr, downloads, ...
    - I am not certain that this will help fix the faults you report but given that they are purely Windows 10 problems [rather than being associated only with applications] it might do so.

Post back with details of what happened, what has been fixed, what faults still occur.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

Run accesschk -a (Your Windows Username) in cmd. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...oads/accesschk You can also use this Powershell Cmdlet.

The PowerShell line doesn't work for me, either with Admin or without. Gives this error:

Do you have the hidden Administrator enabled? You could try from there to
create a new account with administrator privilege to see if that works.
If it does , your other profile may be corrupt.

Enable or Disable Elevated Administrator account in Windows 10

    So as an example it's actually a non-working command/script?

when I tried to trouble shoot I got he message " an error occurred while trouble shooting a problem is preventing troubleshooting from starting ox800070005 context restricted source engine
when I tried opening powershell earlier I got an error message that said " this program does not have an app associated with it for performing this action, if one is already installed create an association in deafault apps."
I have tried numerous times to take a screenshot, and my laptop just wont do it. its only 6 months old, but obviously I have screwed it up somehow. now I have restored it to a different time 6 weeks ago, and now its slower than molassess in January...……..I have tried to restore it again and it does nothing and I get no error message. I have tried to delete the other user account ( my original account) and again it ttakes me through to confirm delting the user and keeping the files, but does nothing when I press the button to confirm.
I don't know what else to tell you, I will try and keep trying ...thanks for your advice.
