If your user account is an MSAccount then go to Reset MSAccount password

If your user account is a local account [one that exists only on your computer] then it can only be reset by an admin account on the computer
    - You cannot recover a password, merely reset it and use a new one
    - The USB flash drive you refer to can only be made beforehand because it requires the password to be entered when it is made. It is called a "Password reset disk", it only works for local accounts and it is no more useful than writing the password down on a piece of paper.

Your post is unclear. Have you completed the procedure Reset MSAccount password or not? I think you are saying that you have and that you can log in online without any problems.

Do please note what I said before - passwords can be reset [cleared & replaced with new ones]. They cannot be recovered.

If you can log in online successfully but not on the MSAccount on the computer then I experienced this once and it taught me that MSAccounts on computers were unrelaible so I stopped using them.
    - When mine started rejecting my password I just keeping rebooting & trying again. It eventually worked. I have seen others make similar comments in this forum.
    - You can try Microsoft Account Troubleshooter - direct download link
    - If you cannot find anything by searching for MSAccount login fails or similar then I can only suggest starting a new thread called MSAccount password works online but is rejected when logging in to my computer

To get back access to your computer without solving that MSAccount problem, you would have to use an admin account to create a new user. So
    - enable the Built-In admin account,
    - use it to create a new password-protected local admin-level user account,
    - then log out of the Built-In admin account & disable it again [same tutorial as enable the Built-In admin account].

    Best of luck,
    Denis

Once you have created the new password-protected local admin-level user account, make sure you write its password down somewhere secure yet readily available to you. Writing down user account passwords is as effective as & is a lot cheaper than making 'Password reset disks' [which are only for local accounts anyway]. I always write user account passwords down on a piece of paper that I keep inside one of those dog nametag cylinder things attached to my main keyring -

Here's a [UK] link for ID tags https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pet-Barrel-.../dp/B00DEB1JVQ There are lots of available choices but I bought ones that, like these, have a slot in the bottom for me to swing off so I can be confident they won't come apart accidentally while I'm out & about.
