I’m having trouble logging into my PC from Safe Mode; Windows 10

Hey what’s up guys. I recently tried cleaning and scanning my PC from potential malware/adware. I seen a tutorial on YouTube that seemed like it legitimately worked. The process involved going into Safe Mode so that no malware/adware would load with the startup (which is what the video described.) After doing this, it prompted me to log in. I thought it was my PIN, which wasn’t working at all. I then discovered your PIN won’t work, it’s actuallly your Microsoft Password that’s needed. So I proceeded to enter my password multiple times, multiple different passwords and nothing was working. Which is very strange because I can log in with that same password on the Microsoft website and I know for a fact that’s my correct password. So now basically, I’m stuck, locked out of my PC with literally nothing I can do or think of. I’ve looked up that you need to download a file from the Microsoft media installation via USB, run a command prompt or something along those lines which is pretty confusing to me, I’m not big on PC software etc. Could someone thoroughly follow me with steps on what to do? Desperate need of help thank you, any feedback at all will greatly be appreciated.

Boot back in to normal mode.
Try using the correct password to verify it does work as you mention.
Whether or not it works, post back. Don't try anything new: just let us know.

EDIT "I recently tried cleaning and scanning my PC from potential malware/adware."
    --- That doesn't sound good.
--- Before attempting the above, disconnect from the Internet so you are using the computer as a "stand-alone" computer.

The keyboard may not be working in Safe Mode, until you login, try the Onscreen Keyboard to login

I can’t boot into normal mode. I’m trying to get out of Safe Mode but the only way to get out is to log into my PC with the password it asks me, but my password for some reason doesn’t work. The keyboard works fine. I use WiFi, and WiFi doesn’t work when in Safe Mode. I’m ultimately stuck right now. Can’t do anything else. Been trying all day, looking for countless solutions

Find a camera or smartphone camera to take pictures and post images into this thread.

Attempt to open command prompt while in safe mode > post image
Attempt to reboot into safe mode with command prompt > post image

    Please answer the following questions.

Do you have Windows 10 Home or Pro?

What is the make/model of your computer?

"I can’t boot into normal mode."
--- What happens when you try into normal mode?

Is the account you are trying to log into a Microsoft or a Local Admin account?
--- Is that account the only one you would have access to?

When I asked you to "disconnect from the Internet so you are using the computer as a "stand-alone" computer. ", you don't need Wi-Fi.
--- The intent of booting up without internet access is hopefully to avoid "potential malware/adware" from calling home if that is involved.

As you see "looking for countless solutions", can be frustrating.
--- We need to know a little more information to try to get to a sense of direction which way to go.

Are you able to use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi?

Are you still stuck in Safe Mode?

While I was typing I saw zbook's recommendation to post images.
--- Yes follow up on that.

I made an imgur album with all the menus from my side. I have Windows 10 Home, and I have no options to boot normally. It’s a Microsoft account, since it doesn’t take my PIN like when it booted normally. Yes this is the only admin account on my PC, no one uses it but me. Yes still stuck in Safe Mode. Here’s an imgur album with the menus I see on my side.

When I intend to boot Safe Mode with Command Prompt (option 6) it takes me back to the same ole’ login screen. Legit don’t know what else to do.

The thing I don’t understand is how does that same password work for my Microsoft account on their website, but not trying to log into my PC? I know I’m not typing it incorrectly, I even tried multiple passwords, all passwords I could even think of, whether I used them in the past or recently. Additionally, would y’all like to see the specs of my PC? Even though I doubt that would really help. Also, I have a USB for the Microsoft media installation I’ve seen around

I would suggest you use option 5 here to enable the built-in administrator account:
Enable or Disable Elevated Administrator account in Windows 10

Then you should be able to log in safe mode with the built-in administrator account without a password and reset the computer back to restart in normal mode. Once you get back into your account, be sure to disable the built-in administrator account again!

I have a wired keyboard lol.. 🤦🏻*♂️ in Option 5, I don’t see that screen. Will I automatically be able to navigate to that Recovery menu by insterting a USB drive upon turning my PC on?

Also, I would have to get the Microsoft installation media from their website and download it onto a USB from another computer correct?
