    Can't log into Windows 10?

My apologizes if this is in the wrong area here, but I've seem to of encountered a problem in the past couple of days that I've never had before.

Basically I'll type in my 4 digit pin and afterwards it just loads and loads and never moves past that screen. Sometimes it will and when it finally does, nothing loads up. None of my thumbail icons are on my taskbar. I've run my PC in safe mode and tried doing a troubleshoot via the command prompt (running a SFC scan), but that didn't seem to do anything at all. The only thing that seems to work is if I do a system restore back to a certain point, I can actually log in and do my normal business.

I'm really stumped and I hope someone here can help me. I'll lend out any information that can help this irritating issue.

I've tried that as well, it's still the same issue.

So an update on this situation, I noticed this was happening with new updates of Avira Anti-Virus. I was using the free version and over the weekend it wanted an update. When I restarted my PC, this is when this issue occurred. It could be a coincidence, but who knows. I am worried about this problem possibly occurring again, so I'm still willing to provide any information that can enlighten someone that might know the cause of all of this.

I read in these forum of a guy having a similar issue. Go into Windows Explorer. Right click on your main hard drive. Then left click on Properties. Once in Properties left click on the tools tab. Under Error Checking left click on Check. This fixed the issue for him. It's worth a try.

Thanks, I just did, and everything was scanned and no errors were found.

Definitely worth a shot. Your response is appreciated!
