    User account permissions...

    Purchased a new PC - ran the initial setup routines and set myself as (sole) user. Also set with NO password/local account...

    However, when I right-click-run-as-administrator an exe file or shortcut to run a programme I always recieve a pop-up asking if I want to make changes to this PC

    Each of my 2-other W10 machines behave as 'normal' and run as admin immediately...

    Not a major issue - just irritating and puzzling

    Ideas out there?

    Sure looks like it's your UAC (User Account Control). Take a look here to see which level may be best for you. Your current setting is warning you of making changes like it's suppose to. Back it down a notch (NOT OFF), and see if it's better for you.

    @skyways1142

    Should you decide to try the UAC settings, please post back to let us know if it worked for you. Thanks.

    Hi f14tomcat,

    thanks for your input ~~~ I tried the User Account setting and found that it was already set to the second step (from top).
    The only way W10 would accept a right-click as administrator was at the very lowest setting!!!

    As said earlier it is only an irritation and I can live with it...however, my other W10 PCs appear to work with right-click in the accepted manner of instant access to 'exe' files etc!

    Computers eh?!
