    Admin access to users accounts

Now that I've upgrade our main machine from xp64 to Win10, I am not trying to restore everyone profile stuff. However, even as admin I can't seem to access anyone's profile but mine. How can i access their profiles so I can load all their stuff back into them?

It would really be nice if I could access their profiles via my debian server since that's where it's all backed up to. Again, from the debian server via command line, I can mount the drive where the profiles are but it won't let me access them.

I understand the need for security but at one point Microsoft has to let me be responsible for the machine I own.

PS... I mounted the profiles via samba and can open the profiles but can't see the contents (says the folders are empty but I can see from the machine their not).

Exactly what are you trying to access and exactly what happens when you try?

The different profiles on my PC. I get the attached error.

I'm just trying to load their stuff back into their profiles like desktop, documents, favorites, etc...

I'm embarrassed to answer that question. I would love to say yes, I hit continue but it would have saved me a post had I of done that...

    So should I say, MAYBE...

It's late, I better to go to bed and save more fun for tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

So you are trying to access the other users' user folders within C:\Users and you get the normal opportunity to grant permission for such access.
    - Once you give yourself permission, you will have permanent access to those folders.
    - Then you can copy back their subfolders such as Documents.
    - Do not copy back the things that look like shortcuts to folders that you will also see when you are looking inside C:\Users\Fred etc [such as an apparent shortcut to a Cookies folder] because those things are not what they seem to be.
    - Do not copy back any of the individual files in C:\Users\Fred etc such as the ntuser.dat file. {By the way, these files are often referred to as the user profile which is why I had to check just what you were referring to before}.
    - Only copy across the things you want in these subfolders - Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Favorites [for IE users only], Music, Pictures, Videos.
