Can event viewer events be easily deleted (by teens)?

Can event viewer events be easily deleted (by teens)?

I'm using Event Viewer in Windows 10 to control my kids screen time. One of my kids (14yo) is a bit too tech savvy so I wonder if he may have googled for a way to delete entries (such as 4634 sign out LogonType 2 just to give an example). I guess this needs too much knowledge for him, am I right?

    Any help much welcome.

I don't know about deleting individual event logs, but I think it is possible to clear all of them even with a standard account.

However, why not simply set up parental controls?

There are free options both in Windows as well as other software on the market that is either free or does not cost too much. Most of these come with monitoring options too either via a web dashboard or from within the application itself (logging in as admin of course).

You can set time limits, app limits, content restrictions so that no undesirable websites can be visited etc.

I have two boys, 17 and 14, so yes if there is a will they will probably find a way to get around the restrictions and that is why I recommend parental control software since just monitoring logs is likely not sufficient.

But the best advice I can give as a parent is you must talk with your kids about this, about your concerns as a parent for their online safety and also teaching best practices when using technology in general.

Hope you can find a way to resolve this.

Thanks for your neat answer. Iím having problems with parental controls and it seems Ill have to wipe and reinstall.
I always talk kids into screen time and try to make them think, not easy, as teens are teens.

I have some experience with parental control software so if you want to tell me which one you are using and what the problems are I can try and help.

Agree with you about teens being teens

I need to reinstall anyway as I'm having other issues. I'll come back to you if this doesn't fix it. Thank you.
