    sign in new pc

My PC was built but there is no sign in so anyone can use it. Without changing my password is there a way to sign in with my MS account like I did with my old?
I used to enter my MS credentials at sign in screen to login.

    Hello Peter,

It sounds like the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer box may have been unchecked in netplwiz.

If so, checking the box using Option 1 below should sort this for you.

I followed the steps but it says the MS address is already here so it cannot be done.
It asked for current one which I entered and it rejected it then I entered none and that too was rejected.
I have always had the same MS account and change the password occasionally but currently I am signing into MS account sites with my MS account and password. I have not changed anything for a while.
Is there any way I can keep my PC from others using it?

Please let me reiterate for clarity purposes. The builder left it so There is no account or password to enter Windows; I just click on the spotlight screen.
Anyone can use it this way so I wanted to protect it. In the past I used to have my MS account and password to do so. That is what I am trying to do again unless it involves some new change where I must do other than just change passwords and they all change automatically.
Norw that I have clicked as directed will there be any changes to my system?

One quick breach of protocol; my PC says optimization necessary and set to do on a weekly schedule. How do I handle that?

    Peter,

You should have at least one account on the computer that you are using.

Let's use the second command in Option 2 of the tutorial below to export all account details to a text file, then upload that text file here. This will let us know all accounts you have on the computer and if they are currently enabled or disabled.

It sounds like, the builder may have left you a default account without a password. If so, you could add a password to that account, or create a new account and make it an administrator for you to use instead.

It shows you have one account on the computer named "User". This would indeed appear to just be a default account set up by the builder for you.

If you like, you can create a new account (Microsoft account or Local account) with a password, make it an administrator type, sign in to it, and set up how you like. Afterwards, delete the old "User" account.

It sounds as though the current MS account I wished to keep as I have used it for years will not be possible to be kept.
I read where you said set up a "new" MS account.
Is this correct? I ask as it will influence my choices and thank you for your kind help.

You should be able to add a new account on the PC as a Microsoft account using the email address for your current Microsoft account.

I will continue to study,"Change account type in Windows 10".
At my level it is tough but I will give it a go. Hopefully I will sign in with my current MS account.
Thanks for all the work. I'll write back but it may be awhile.
