    strange file permission errors

Not sure what caused the problem, could have been a user profile migration to a domain using ForensIT User Profile Wizard or some pre-existing condition but one user is now having problems with his OneDrive local folder (C:\Users\<username>\OneDrive) permissions.

He is the owner and has full Full Control permission of the file but on multiple files and folders he can not read, delete or copy. he gets " You require permissions from <Domain>\<user> to make changes to this folder" where <domain> and <user> are the same as the currently logged in user. This of course also causes problems syncing with OneDrive.

I have tried many things including taking ownership of C:\Users\<username>\OneDrive and selecting "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" via the gui, takeown /R /F at command line run as administrator as well as ICACLS * /T /Q /C /RESET and still permissions problems.

enabled built on adminintrator account, made sure UAC was disabled, re-did above steps logged in as built in administrator, still no go.

even Effective Permissions checks show i have Full Control except for Special Permissions, it's greyed out and not checked.

No other users have the same problem, just one bad egg. This is Windows 10 Pro X64

    Any advice welcome.

That is because the profile still thinks that it is being used with the previous resources. Try this. It is a safe tool and TheWindowsClub is trusted. Repair Windows User Profile data settings with ReProfiler This is the long way in fixing. The User Profile Service failed the logon, User profile cannot be loaded
