    Access DENIED remnant folder purevpn

I am trying to get rid of all remnents of purevpn. I uninstalled first from control panel, as I couldn't locate a different uninstall file. Then ( a while later-months) I searched and found a purevpn folder in an odd place(don't recall, just not in usual program file areas) There WAS the uninstall file!! So I ran it. Now a search shows up several different files belonging to purevpn but one that concerns me is located in C:\programdata\purevpn. The only file is "commands" no extension, under type says 'file' Access denied when I try to delete(need permission from Administrators, etc) try again. Cannot change attributes. tried from properties( read only isnt even checked but when I try to del, denied!Tried attrib -r from elevated command prompt. denied!
Opened ADMINISTRATOR account. I cannot even find C:\programdata folder nor any returns for purevpn.
Stumped! ( I made system administrator inactive BTW)

You should probably open a new thread not hijack this one as it is a different issue.

In the mean time if you want Administrator to see 'ProgramData' then you need to show hidden files. See : Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives in Windows 10 | Tutorials

If you want to delete something you are not authorised to you need to take ownership and give yourself authority which you can do with this : Add Take Ownership to Context Menu in Windows 10 | Tutorials

It is possible that even as Administrator you'll need to take ownership and give yourself authority as it may be owned by TrustedInstaller so there isn't a particular advantage to use the built in Administrator over any other administrator acount for this problem. Anyway, best of luck - the two tutorials above should sort you out!
