    remove autologin

    Dear community,

just installed W10, and it looks nice.

We are 3 users on my family PC and no password defined on our respective accounts (we don't want it). On Win7 the choice for accounts to log in always appeared at start. Now with Win 10 it always autologs in my account.
How can I stop this auto login without defining a password (same as it was on Win7)??

Made some searches on Google, seems same problem in W8. But nothing helped me yet.

    TY for any contribution

    Elwood

Run netplwz command and you can select to use the password again.

TY BunnyJ for ur quick answer, but I think I missed to explain that we do not want any password on the family PC.
I used netplwiz and the check mark "users have to ..." is ON.
Despite this, it doesnt start on the user account choice, but auto log with last user.

    Any other idea?

Hello Elwood, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

When you do not have a password for an account, Windows will automatically sign in to it when selected. At startup, Windows will automatically sign in to the last user since it's selected.

You could add a password to the account to stop this.

TY Brink for your reply. I know that by adding a PW it solves the problem.

My question is if it is possible to get same behavior than in W7: despite no PW, the login account has to be selected at startup (no autologin).

How about this? (it's meant for Windows 8 but works in 10) Sign in with User Name and Password in Windows 8
