No "Switch User" option. Is it by design?
Windows 10 Home 64-bit v1803, Build 17134.523 - Set up as Local Account
I have only had my new Windows 10 laptop since November and I am still getting used to it and finding things out. I have noticed that Windows 10 “Start” options are “Shut down”, “Sign out”, “Sleep” and “Restart” but there is no “Switch User” option.
On my other Windows 8.1 PC if I want to switch to another user whilst keeping myself still signed-in with apps running I have the option to select Start then “Switch User”.
Is this a bug on my Windows 10 Home machine or is it by design for security and unchangeable? I can see the logic of it being “by design for security” since it makes the current user save all their work and sign out before one can select another user. It is more long-winded but definitely more secure. I was just wondering if it is normal W10 behaviour and not my machine being set wrongly.
I tried “Fast User Switching” but this has not helped so I put it back how it was.
Thanks in advance.
