It shouldn't affect it, but you never know.

It may be a good idea to send feedback to Microsoft via the "Feedback Hub" to help make them aware of it if it is an unknown bug.

Yes, I have done this. Hopefully MS will actually do something about it.

So I just did a clean install of 1803 again (found 1809 too buggy for now) and it now has the same issue. The profile picture just won't sync with Windows when linking my local user to my MS account. It seems as if a recent update is causing this because I didn't have that problem before when clean installing 1803.

Had a very similar issue. Online in my account, it showed fine. All sync options were correct. No pic in Settings>Account, or on the logon screen. Finally gave up and in Settings>Account, I just changed the doughboy to my real pic with the "Browse for one" option at the bottom. All is set right now.

Did you skip connecting to your MS account during 1809's installation wizard and link your local account to your MS account afterwards?

Nope. Went with MS account right up front. I have several installations of 10 running dual-boot and VM, all same account, it should have been fine. The others were.

Funny thing, though..... it did sync the nickname I had setup in the online account maintenance. It shows up everywhere it should. Was just the pic I had to shoehorn in.

Thanks for the info. This is quite weird and I can't find the cause, whether it's something at MS' end or ours.

Hey Brink, I was wondering when the last time was when you clean installed Windows.

    Hello Johnny,

I clean installed 3 days ago doing some experiments.

Was that the 19H1 version? If so, when was the last time you clean installed 1809?
