The bigger question is if the system was purchased with a legit copy of Windows 7, wouldn't the Windows 10 upgrade activate automatically using the Windows 7 key? Since Windows 10 isn't currently activated, either the Windows 7 key wasn't legit or Windows 10 was installed using a different non-legitimate product key?

Hello 10 , did you read the part when i said i provided these following proofs
1- 3 email addresses the account was sent to
2-The actual subject title the reciever will have recieved from that account
3- Two passwords that will have been used to set up the account
But still Microsoft is adamant in being difficult.
The account was only open for just a short time

Look, this is the way I see it.

It doesn't matter if you remember or could cite hundreds of addresses from the Inbox, Sent box, or spam bin, if you don't have or can't provide a secondary email address that is attached to your MS account for recovery or identity verification. Or, even a birth date. MS or any other legit company would not touch your mailbox to verify claims, especially for your specific purpose. What it does is to cross-check your claim against the information you attach to your account, NOT mailbox. Capeesh?

Let me tell you a little more of my Yahoo story. When I created the Yahoo account, my primary email address was with IBM. I treated Yahoo's as a fancy account. Really, how could you treat a Y-A-H-O-O address seriously against an I-B-M address at that time? So, I used a fake AOL address as secondary email address during registration. I didn't realize it could or would be used later to check my identity. I also used a fake birth date that I couldn't remember later for use in recovery attempt. Does that ring a bell?

I am sorry for what has happened to you. I do, because I experienced similar many years ago. I hope you will be able to reclaim your account somehow, or recover from the experience like I did - and learn from it.

    Hello Tite,

I have advised where i purchased the PC ( PC world ) which came with Windows 7 and it was upgraded on the Microsoft website when the notification for upgrading to 10 came into play. I have had the system for a longtime.

I would like to know what this has to do with Microsoft not giving me access to my email address? I sincerely hope this is not a ruse to throw off the real topic ? I appreciate all the feedback i have recieved in here It really takes some of the frustration and anger i feel for Microsoft. Like one person said , i may have to cut ties with my account and twitter whom i have spent over 6 years creating

A code from Microsoft was sent to my secondary email address , but when i activated the code it asked a series of questions and to the best of my knowledge i answered. The 3 that i mentioned in my previous post was accurate

Is that just hotmail.com or outlook.com e-mail account ? You can have one of those even if you don't have or use windows, or windows are not activated.

    It was outlook.com

Thank you for that. I think it was a ruse to throw me off the real topic. I know that Curry's PC World is legitimate and the upgrade was automatically sent via Microsoft because i remembered recieving constant prompts to upgrade when i purchase the machine

Be assured, this is not a ruse. We do not do that on Tenforums.

The concern is it appears your copy of Windows 10 is not activated. I read your explanation. For it to always show like that, as you stated, is unnatural. This is the post I am referring to: Microsoft deliberately making it difficult for me to obtain my account - Page 2 - Windows 10 Forums

An non-activated system can, and will, cause many issues.

Along with the apparent inactivation, your inability to get MS to help, and no access to your corroborating Emails, you also have a non-accessible Twitter account, as you stated, and posted here also. New Twitter PWA update - November 5 - Windows 10 Forums

Something is just not right with your installation. An inactivated OS can run for a period of time, then MS will shut it off.

My current Lenovo H50 PC was a W7/W10 upgrade bought from PC World, no issues at all on the licensing/activation front, although I did end up clean installing W10 via MCT to get rid of the bloatware soon after purchase.
So I doubt there is anything 'dodgy' (illegitimate) about the OP's install, more likely something has gone wrong either during the W7 upgrade installation or corruption at initial sign on?
That's the first bit to sort out I would have thought, as I can't see MS giving you the time of day without activation to prove the licensing legitimacy.
