How to change the presentation of files in the file/folder browser  

Hi,
I could use a little help in taking control of the manner in which the file browser presents the files. I have a C drive and 4 data drives. Each data drive has it's unique structure and should be presented as such. For example: in the most of the music drive I want to see only the following: Name, title, size and length. In another folder just the Name, and size. When I go to the 'Customize' tab on the properties popup I have a choice of General Items, Documents, Pictures, Music, and Videos.

If I select music and check the 'Also apply to subfolders' then click either OK, or Apply it doesn't do it. In fact I can arrange any folder the way I want but it never remembers. Because I figured it might be because I did not own the folder I used 'Take Ownership' but still no work.

Perhaps it is in the 'change folder and search' options. Maybe someone has an idea.
