First Boot Local Login Then Create Admin Acct??

New computer. I hope I can explain this correctly and someone kindly tell me if my thinking is all wrong. At first boot I want to power up without an Internet connection. I don't want MS to start updating right away and I want to set up somethings first. I believe I know at first boot I can create a local login without an MS acct and just log into the computer with just a password. If I do it this way I will be what creating a user name and then the password:

username: test
password: password

and then I am logged in and I should arrive at the desktop.

Now that is not a local account is it? I don't think it is. And if it isn't I want to then create a local account and then an admin acct.

I will be using the local or standard acct for everyday activities and when I need to say install software or I need elevated privileges I will invoke the admin acct. And I believe I realize in order to create an admin acct it has to be linked to MS and that is when I will connect to the Internet. Do I also need to be connected to the Internet to create a standard or local acct?

So have I got this right. Bottom line is I want to get to the desktop before connecting to the Internet and I believe I can do this by creating a local login account that just requires a password (does the local login account also require a user name?)

And then the goal is to create a standard account that I will be using for day to day activities while connected to the Internet and also create an admin account for elevated privileges.

-In fact that would be your first local admin account. Windows 10 designates the first account as an administrator account whether it is local or MS linked.

-You don't need to be connected to the internet to create local standard or admin accounts. But, you would need to be connected when as you say you later want to create an MS linked account or if you want Windows to be activated. If you create the MS linked account later, it can can be made standard or admin.

If you want to be able to enter passwords to login to Windows the USER names will already be available on the login screen for you to just click the relevant profile icon and enter the password ( all accounts need USER names ).

You can change the accounts between standard and local later on as well.

I am sure somebody else will enhance upon the above comments with reference to what you want to achieve.

OK. So at first boot when I create what I thought was going to be my standard local user login account that is actually going to be my admin account even though I am not connected to the Internet, right?

Let's call that account user name admin and the password password. So that is not at the moment associated with any MS account or gmail account it is just what I used hypothetically to reach the desktop.

And then I can create a local standard user account that I would be using for everyday purposes and let's call that user name standard and password password.

And then I can associate the first one that I created which I thought was just going to be a local account but is actually my first admin account I can associate that with a gmail address called admin@gmail.com and link that to MS. I know that gmail will not allow you to use admin in the user name.

Do I have that straight. I absolutely know I am making this way harder than it really is but somehow I have got this in my head that I do not want MS downloading updates as soon as I first boot which is why I wanted to start with no Internet and create a standard everyday user account and an admin account for elevated privileges. I think I may be confusing logging into the computer and getting to the desktop with standard and admin accounts.

Yes, you can do the steps as you have described them. Just make sure you have at least one admin USER account either local or MS linked, always.
