Persistent User Profile Access After UAC Authentication

Hi All. I've got what I find to be a strange thing happening with one of my computers. I am an admin and was logged in with an end user's account. I needed to grab a file from another user's profile on the computer (C:\users\otheruser) so I browsed to the file and used my admin creds to authenticate when the UAC prompt popped up. However, the original user who was logged into the system now has access to the other user's folder and I can't get it to go away. Is this supposed to be a persistent setting? I rebooted a few times, but the access is still there. All other user profiles are blocked for browsing (UAC prompts for access), but this one seems to have stored something saying that access was granted once so should always be granted.

Yes, it said it would be permanent when you tried to access the other user's folder while signed in as the first.



By clicking Continue and using your admin account and password in the UAC prompt that followed you have added the first user to the security permissions for the other user's folder.

You can remove them again, sign in as an administrator and right-click on the other user's folder that you have given the first user access to. Select Properties and then the Security tab. Click the Advanced button and you will be able to remove the unwanted user from the list of those with access. Read this tutorial for full instructions, Option Four is the one you need.
