    windows hello/fingerprint not allowing setup

    win10 enterprise - new machine that i'm setting up - xps 9560.

so - if i try to set up a fingerprint, i just get a flash screen of something opening/closing - too fast to screen-capture or see.

yes, i have the synaptics drivers and they appear to be working by device manager. also, biometrics is enabled in the group policy.

or - does fingerprint login require the use of connecting the user's account to an email? if so - is there any alternatives to windows hello?

Umm- sorry, thread bumping is specifically disallowed in the forum rules- available in the options at the top.

Best refer this to Dell's forum where the relevant expertise lies, else you're hoping someone here has a similar model.

    E.g. from a general search

    will do - though i think it's a win10 issue that's likely not hardware-related.

But may require a BIOS or driver update for example- thing is, it's a question of where someone may have experienced this.

E.g. from the first thread I posted above:
But there's a BIOS download that'll require your computer to restart. Download that. After I downloaded it, immediately I could finally use my pin to sign in. I went into the sign in options and set the fingerprint up again and it works fine now - 11/10/17
    From the other:
Download and install the TPM 2.0 Firmware from Dell. This did not appear in my driver list anywhere at the time of writing this and it was not applied via Dell Update. http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/...&categoryId=SY

An unfiltered list of drivers for the XPS 9560 can be found here as well http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/...laptop/drivers
