HDD Clone User Profile service failed the sign-in

I started with a windows 7 system on an SSD and placed my documents etc on a separate HDD drive D:. Since then I've upgraded to Windows 10. My D drive is getting full and I want to replace it with a larger drive. I cloned the D drive with Macrium Reflect to the new larger HDD. If I disconnect drive D and connect the larger HHD I get the error User Profile service failed the sign-in. I've tried booting into safe mode and running net user administrator /active:yes but it doesn't show up with an admin account on reboot. If I then disconnect that HDD and reconnect drive D the addition admin account shows up.

I can't figure out how to fix this error to replace the D drive with a larger one. Thanks.

Just a thought; did you do the clone the old drive using the Macrium bootable USB or did you do it with the Macrium Program whilst Windows was running ?

Your correct I did the clone from windows. After cloning from a bootable USB and then disconnecting the D: drive, I rebooted and everything works. Thanks.
