user selection
I have three users in my MS account plus default and public (no, I don't know how they got there). I find that the wrong user is being used in programs. How do I change the default? Thanks

What are the accounts called? Are they administrators?
You could choose to remove the accounts from Windows and it will delete all of the data attached to them.

Do not delete anything until the situation is clearer.
Do you mean that within C:\Users you have folders called Default & Public? That is normal. Do not delete those folders.
What do you mean by "the wrong user is being used in programs"? Please explain the symptoms you are witnessing.

Only one administrator account is involved.

The OS is defaulting to the PDRoof path when executing a program. I prefer Peter and don't really care about Corbian or PDRoof.

Do not delete the Default or Public folders. They are supposed to be there.

As I stated I have two programs that utilize profiles from Roaming-AppData .... When they start I can see that they are using profiles from AppData from User PDRoof. I want User Peter and that choice must be set somewhere in the OS.

Assuming you want to just delete Corbian or PDRoof, make sure that Peter is signed in as an Admin, use Option 2 in this tutorial - Delete User Account in Windows 10
You will be given the option to save personal files (backup AppData from both these too, just in case) under the Corbian and/or PDRoof profiles, in case some are mistakenly in there. This will remove the two unwanted User profiles and their associated settings (eg; default program folders) and leave just Peter so the programs would have no choice but to use Peter, at this point. You only have permission to use the AppData folder that belongs to your login, permissions block access to all the other user's AppData folders. You can only be using profiles from PDRRoof\AppData if you are logged in as PDRoof. With MS accounts in particular, it's not entirely clear which actual User folder you are using, the MS account name can be different from its User folder.
Open a Command Prompt. To see who you are actually signed in as, your User folder path, and where your AppData is, type these command:echo %username%
echo %userprofile%
echo %appdata%
