Keeping my windows 10 account when changing computer.

Hey! How do I keep my windows 10 account when purchasing a brand new computer? I have bought games in Windows 10 store and I would like to keep and download them on the brand new computer. The computer will come with windows 10 already installed, do I just log in with my windows 10 account? How does it work?

    Thanks, Hinjima.

If you are using a Microsoft Account to log in currently then once you purchase your new computer, you just have to log in with you Microsoft account and you will be able to download all your games from the Windows store that you purchased.

You can use a Local Account, and log on to any Outlook/MS Accounts separately like MS Store, OneDrive etc.
You don't have to use any Syncing. The Sync your settings is greyed out when using a Local Account.

You can swop at anytime between a Local Account and signing in with an MS Account. Your choice.

I would like to create a MS account. Ideally, I would convert my local account to the MS account and keep the same desktop, etc. I have a Windows Live account, but apparently that's not considered a MS account. When I log in from the Lock Screen I use my local account's password; the Windows Live password is different. Ideally, I would keep my current Lock Screen password. Any advice? Thanks.

You'll have to use your Windows Live account password, though, unless you set a PIN or some other way to log in.

    Thanks, NavyLCDR.

I decided a little while ago to bite the bullet and just do it. I went to Settings>Accounts>Your info and clicked on "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead" (or something like that), and signed in with my Windows Live account. Everything is as it should be I guess.

    Thanks again.
