new defaultuser1 account at start since last windows update

    Hi,
After the last update, my computer would start with a new account: defaultuser1, for which I have no password.
I wrote to microsoft and tried starting in safe mode and type in the command prompt :
    net user administrator /active:yes

    Which didn't work.
I tried several things like get rid of the defaultuser1 account in the command prompt without result (the system cannot find the file specified).

One result did look like I may have a similar problem like the one described in your forum here

If I type net user, then there is an errormessage (the command completed with one or more error) and there is no computer name after User accounts for \\

As I have no possibility to log in, I can not do what is explained by Kari in the thread.
Do you have any Idea how to help me?
    Thanks a lot

Hi TriNerd and welcome to Tenforums.
I wonder if you can perform a system restore at the command prompt?
    Code:
    rstrui.exe
If successful, my next question would be, do you have a 3rd-party anti-virus on the system? If so, uninstall it before trying to upgrade again. I've seen this happen on systems with Avast.

    Hi Simrick,
    thanks for your answer.
I tried rstrui.exe and a window opened "restore system files and settings" saying:
No restore points have been created on your computer's system drive. To create a restore point open system protection.

I clicked on system protection, but the new window said: System Protection is available only in online operating system.

Another Idea what I could do?

If this is a user account that only appears when you use net user to list accounts then it is probably of no significance and can probably safely be ignored if it is not interfering with your other accounts. There was a similar thing some time ago - see @Kari's presentation on DefaultUser0

Using the BuiltIn Administrator to list accounts in Safe mode with the net user command always reports the error message you saw.

However, I think [from what you have said] that your computer is trying to log in to that account when you start your computer. Given the information in @Kari's presentation, I think this means that the update has not been completely installed. So, if I have understood you correctly, I think you should try to
1 rollback that update [Settings, Updates, View installed update history, Uninstall updates] or
2 restore your computer to the last system image you have, or
3 if you are referring to the ver 1803 update rather than a Cumulative update within a version, download the Ver 1803 ISO file and use it to run a Repair install.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

Since you have no possibility to login, perhaps you can try enabling the hidden admin account, and once that's working, we can get some repairs done.

You'll need to use option #5.

I just stumbled across what seems to be an identical problem from last year.

The solution is in the 4 Dec 2017 post by Patrick McDonald - Windows 10 Version 1709 (KB4041994) User settings Issue

Given the nature of the solution, you might also wish to study these articles on the same subject matter -
