If you could access your other machine and provide screen shot from File explorer.

To take the screen shot insert USB, open it, hold the ALT key down and press print screen once, release keys.

Then come to thread, click in response area and press Crtl-V

Interesting. Different than mine. Pulled a V1709 key from bag and it is the same as my 1803, Both being different than yours.

It is what it is. If you go back and use media creation tool you will get 1803.

So yes, click on setup. If you get ant question about BITS answer 64 bit.

It world not work...because the activation numbers that I have are for the company this guy has, and it begins with 00 and no activation numbers start with a zero or an o/O
So it will not accept the activation, it wont work..but then I thought I mentioned that it was not activated. Easy to miss through all the posts and info. that I've given.
I have tried to activate but for almost 2 years it hasn't let me, although it updates and allows everything, except I can't change some of the personal settings, like the background color of desktop.
So I guess I'm stuck. will it matter if I do a restore..to before this happened.?

You can try a restore, very doubtful that will work.

So Windows will let you use an unactivated version as you said so there really is no harm in just starting over. Install Pro or Home.

Will be just the same as you have now.

Have a read of this. It sounds complicated, it is not.

    Clean Install Windows 10

I'll be back in two hours.

    Okie doing the reading.
I notice in the beginning it says info about the activation and about having the Enterprise edition. Is it possible to put the numbers that I have on my laptop that came with win7 it does say something about that.

Actually that would be a good test to see if "Free" offer is still active. If you want to go this route we would see what Win 7 your license is for, that being Home or Pro. It will be right on sticker.

Not sure why the gentlemen that helped you didn't do this. The advertised Free upgrade to 10 ended and long time ago but I updated one in January so the offer was still available.
