It will not work...it keeps giving errors. I should have saved the error number...but it did it on both the usb's I used. The ones I used BOTH had that ESD so what's the deal I can't use them anymore for anything?
I'll start it again and I'll write down the error #

This is a boot USB, no movies. It warned you it will erase current content.

Later if you want you can format and use USB key for anything you want.

    Patience.

The media is now talking about the Feature update and it is Friday night. Can't imagine how many people are saying, hey lets give this a try.

Sorry what will not work. It won't boot or it won't create media.

If it won't create media you need to follow this. Note Bree says in the command where he listed FS=NTFS it should be FS=FAT32

USB flash drive --assign drive letter back to dynamic from static

Now it is extremely important that you execute the commands against the right drive. So I don't want you to follow all the commands in the link until we confirm together.

So plug a USB key into computer. Assuming the computer you are using is Windows 10, right click start, then left click Command prompt(Admin) or Powershell(Admin). When the window opens type

    Diskpart

    When diskpart starts type

    List disk

Take a screen print of info and post. Do not go any farther. please.

    Okay.

Think that is 4:00 my time.

If you get a good USB don't worry about posting screen shot.

All right I have a good, working USB with the Media Tool on it.

So the plan is to start it the same way I did when I used the first tool
I made and stop it at boot settings, Change it to boot with the USB then let it start and follow the prompts as they happen...but when it asks for my MS product code..or whatever it's called, the numbers ...do I put in the Win7 numbers and will it know that I want to take the Win 10 update...and we see if that works?

Then if does not work start over and put the numbers from the MS Enterprise Edition that's running now.

I have changed my MS password at the site so IF it allows me to upgrade to 10 using the Win 7 numbers, I will activate it...yea?
    I won't start until I hear back.

    Morning Fleet420.

In post #86 you wrote that the update did not work. Your Enterprise edition is not activate. Not sure what you mean numbers from MS Enterprize edition.

We are now at the point of wiping away everything on you machine and doing a clean install. Please look at your Windows 7 licensing sticker, you need the twenty five digit code and the Edition name, Home or Pro.

From this point on you will not have Windows Enterprise nor will you be able to down load it. It's gone.

You will plug in the USB key and you will boot from it. You are installing Windows and you will use the Win 7 product key.

    Clean Install Windows 10

Any question please get them to me. On Wednesday of this week I will potentially be offline for several days.

I'm going to start, the only questions I have is these
Am I doing the clean Install?
it shows there are two types one is clean install the other is custom
    and
will I have to choose the partitions
When I do this, and enter my win 7 number will it will think it's updating me from 7 to win 10...is this correct?
I will start as soon as I see your reply

Yes you are doing the clean install, blank canvass.

    You want the custom.

I'm guessing you have a UEFI Bios so skip step 12 and do step 13. Delete all existing partitions. When they are all deleted, click next.

(I was trying to confirm this in manual but didn't find any info.

Just so we are on same page, everything on laptop will be erased.

It will use product key to activate Win 10, so in a way it is an upgrade.

    Good luck.
