What happens directly after clicking the other rouge user account?

Does it ask for the password?

You say you get a black screen before login? Because you can choose other user accounts,, im assuming this comes up after clicking on the rouge account?

The other account just stays black and the hd activity light never stops. Its a slow underpowered all-in-one. We have left it running but nothing comes up.

So you can select the account, and it attempts to load but just goes to the black screen?

Have you tried to load the same account from safemode?

hmm no, not tried safe mode. I told him that we are so close to a major update, that I will format the computer when the time comes and just create one account for them. Much easier to manage.

Yeah always worth a try pal.

Reckon its more then likely a corrupted user profile.

If there is data in the account thats required, using the working account it may let you access the user folder so can copy the files over.

Yea they can access the files which is good.

I just wonder what the cause of the corruption was.

    Is defo strange pal,

You could check what programs/tasks are scheduled to run when this account loads up?

Also worth stripping MSCONFIG of non essential items not required for start up.

I'd recommend a repair install, but yeah since the new public build is fixing to be released soon, it may be able to fix it.
