I personally like the free "Macrium Reflect" to create system images with.

Yea, you are saying that an image is more reliable than a restore point;I just woke up. I do keep an image and an up to date spare HD.
    Thanks Shawn...

    Hello @Brink ,

I noticed that when you use the Disable_System_Restore.reg file, and then go into the System Protection Tab, it shows . . .

Enable or Disable System Restore in Windows-system_restore.png

I don't know if you want to ADD the screenshot to the Tutorial with a comment that the Searching... is Normal.

    Hello @Paul Black,

Searching is normal, but it should eventually show your available drives and their protection status.

I have Drives C:, D:, and S:, and NONE of them showed up after about half an hour of searching. I will have to investigate further later in the week.

If the service is disabled, it will not find them.

You are spot on again as NORMAL.

I have an Amend_Services.bat Script where I had Stopped and Disabled BOTH the swprv - Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider and VSS - Volume Shadow Copy Services.

    I changed the Script to . . .

    Code:

sc start swprv >nul & sc config swprv start=demand
sc start VSS >nul & sc config VSS start=demand

. . . Signed Out, and then Signed In, and it is working again.

    Thanks.
