@Barefoot, a mounted ISO is a virtual DVD drive, behaving in every aspect exactly as a real DVD-R disk on physical DVD drive. It can be read but not written, nothing can be deleted, edited or changed in it.

Solution is simple: copy everything from mounted ISO to a folder on hard disk, let's say D:\ISO_Files. Replace the original install.wim file on D:\ISO_Files\Sources folder with your updated install.wim. Create a bootable USB flash drive using D:\ISO_Files folder as source, as shown in this tutorial: PowerShell Scripting - Create USB Install Media for Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

Alternatively, if you only need new ISO, or if the updated WIM file is too big to be copied to USB (over 4 GB), create an ISO as told in Part Five in this tutorial: Create Windows 10 ISO image from Existing Installation | Windows 10 Tutorials

I am confused. This is an exact duplicate of the post you posted almost an hour and a half ago, which was replied by @flybynite 15 minutes later, and me 20 minutes after him. Then, 40 minutes after being given both explanation and solution, you post the same again?

My reply to you (post #22) not only explains why you can't do that, it also gives you a solution. Please read that post.

Gentlemen, it all makes sense now and please accept my apology. For some reason, maybe not refreshing the page while working on things for few hours. I must have double posted because I clicked reply and when coming back later, the text was still in the reply box and not posted, so I clicked reply again. I didn't know it posted twice until you mentioned it. Also, for some reason I didn't see your posts #21 & 22 here.
